Did you think it was over? Did you think I would let the Animorphs win? Well, then, you are mistaken. I would like to introduce you to your new reality. The Yeerks are back, and all those Animorphs that flew away to save Aximili are gone. Only Cassie remains; she was lucky to be left behind. Not that it really matters, Visser One is leading the charge once again and this time, I win.

But where is the fun when the fight is already over? That miserable girl, one of the Ellimist's champions, has managed to stir up a resistance, aided by her supply of animal DNA and Escafil devices procured from the Andalites.

So it seems that when you wake up in your holocaust reality, that there is hope? Ah hope, such a frail human thought. Still, you have something to fight for, and that always makes for the most amusing squirming when you are crushed. Good luck.

Name: Matthew (Matt) Blaine

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Description: Matt is of average height for a teenager with a slightly thin build. He tends to look slightly younger than his age of 17. He has medium length hair that is dark brown to the extent of almost looking black. He never bothered with styling it because any style he usually tried had usually given way to the way his hair naturally lay by the end of the day. Typically now the most he'll do is run his hands through it and call that good, so it's fairly wild with bangs that he constantly brushes out of his eyes. He also has equally dark brown eyes that are framed by beaten, rectangular glasses. They tend to be very serious, and yet thoughtful and distant.

Matt's usual fashion statement is jeans, tennis shoes, and long sleeved t-shirts. It's often times either not name brand or a mix, generally it doesn't matter as long as it fits. The morphing suit he usually uses is a tight long sleeved black t-shirt and black shorts. He knows it looks weird, but fashion isn't as much of an issue as having it actually fit tight enough that you can morph it.

Personality: Prior to the yeerk takeover Matt was quiet and a little shy. People would usually notice him only as the silent watcher, studying the way those around him moved and acted. His forte was more in the fine arts area and he enjoyed drawing, reading, acting, and music. His chosen instrument was the violin.

The key points of his personality are his logical mindedness and his caring loyalty. He views life as a puzzle and the pieces are what are available to solve any given situation. He feels every problem has a solution and all you need to do is find it. He is also loyal to those he trusts and cares deeply about his friends. His trust is somewhat harder to gain than others, but well worth the effort.

His biggest weaknesses are his quiet nature and his lack of faith in himself, leading him to sometimes not speak up when he has ideas that may benefit the rest of the group. Also, because of his twin sister being a controller he sometimes has issues attacking other controllers because he tends to see them for what they had been before. This has gotten him into trouble a few times.

Bio/History: Pre-takeover he lived at home with his parents and three siblings. His dad was a computers professor at a nearby college and his mom was a teacher's aid at one of the elementary schools. He had an older brother who was almost out of college, a twin sister, and a younger brother in middle school.

His twin sister, Sara, was his best friend. They had no secrets from each other and leaned on the other for emotional support. Though their personalities differed like day and night they were inseparable and had mostly the same friend group.

When the invasion started one of the first people to be taken was Sara. Matt only noticed the small changes in her personality, but their once close friendship began to fall apart. With no one to turn to about problems, Matt started turning to other things. Poetry was his main outlet ,and is he now carries a small notebook with him most everywhere he goes.

He also started trying to run away from home, barely surviving on the minimal skills he'd learned from the years he'd attempted Scouting. It was on one of these attempts at running that he met a recruiter for the Animorphs and realized what was going on. He now fights mostly for his sister, hoping some day to free her.
